Our ProductTank on Wednesday 24 February will be all about user experience and product management. What makes a great experience? What are the boundaries between product and UX? How can product managers do user research? These are only some of the aspects that will be covered by three great speakers who all have a wealth of experience in user experience and product management.
This ProductTank has been curated by Marc Abraham, who helps organising ProductTanks globally. You’ll find Marc on on LinkedIn and Twitter.
The three speakers lined up for this month are:
Simon Norris, Founder & CEO at Nomensa
Simon has over 20 years’ experience running digital business. After his first 6 years working at the digital cutting edge for brands and corporations, he has focussed consistently on the experience that tech and business provide their customers.
Simon will give us a flavour of some of his views in his talk titled “Cultivating Product Mindfulness”, zooming in on where UX fits within the overall product design process.
Julia Shalet, Product Doctor
Julia’s specialism is in driving people-centred product leadership for those working in fast pace environments. She works with clients such as Pearson and Fitbug, enabling their staff to be ‘lean’ in their approach to customer and product development.
Julia will offer a toolkit for those product managers in the audience who don’t have a UX designer or researcher and want to do user research themselves.
Julia will be doing a live case study with an audience member so please let Marc know if you’d like to be involved in this!
Federico Selmi, Product Management & Design Consultant
Federico started his career as designer and now specialises in product management, customer validation and user centric design. Having worked at companies such as Education First, Shopa and Mindshapes, Federico has got a lot of experience with implementing best practices around lean customer development.
Federico will talk about the overlap between UX and product management and how to best work collaboratively to create a great product and experience.
