Welcome to Product Hunt’s Demo Day in London
On February 25th we are hosting the first ever Product Hunt Demo Day in London. Three awesome start ups who first concocted their ideas at the Product Hunt Hackathon on October 26th (exactly 3 months ago) will be demo-ing their platforms, sharing their learnings/struggles, and telling us about their experience with early adopters.
We will also have the very well known angel investor and VC, Russell Buckley come share exponential trends that will affect people’s products, classic mistakes and solutions start ups make, and need to know about funding.

Russell Buckley the mobsessed singularitarian angel investor
Russell Buckley will be sharing his dark take on the future of products and their exponential trends, classic mistakes and solutions start ups make, and his investment secrets.
A little bit about Russell
Russell Buckley has turned his successful hobby of angel investing into becoming a full-time VC with Spring Partners. Spring is taking a refreshing approach to early stage investing, continuing the founder-friendly approach. Spring even shares 20% of the fund’s partner profits (carry) with the founders they invest in.
Previously, Russell worked with the UK Government to help the cream of UK tech companies get Series A funding in the Afterburner Programme. This raised $100 million since April 2014, from investors in the UK and Europe, as well as The Valley and Japan.
He has also done angel investing via Ballpark Ventures and held a number of advisory and Non-Exec/Chairman roles and mentor startups at TechStars Accelerator.
Before that, Russell started the incredibly successful, AdMob (now part of Google) the mobile advertising network, in Europe as its Managing Director. He is also the ex-Global Chairman of the Mobile Marketing Association and an occasional blogger at MobHappy, although more of a I’m now more of a Twitter fiend @russellbuckley.
What else? One of his other most high profile roles was Marketing Director of ZagMe, a start-up specialising in location based marketing – back in 2000! We recruited 85,000 users and ran 1,500 campaigns, so essentially wrote the book on location based marketing. Well, the free white paper anyway.
He is still a mobsessed singularitarian.
