Dine With Travelex: Taking On Fintech Challengers

Join us for dinner, drinks & a chance to meet people working both at fintech startups and more established financial services companies, followed by an after-dinner talk and informal Q&A with Ania Walker, Head of Commercial Development for Products/ Digital at Travelex.

Changing customer behaviour, advances in technology and the growth of new fintech players are fundamentally changing the financial services landscape. This raises serious questions for established companies – over proposition, pace of innovation and internal culture.

In her role at Travelex, Ania is responsible for corporate and product strategy, and has been working directly with the Board to define and deliver the digital change agenda. She is therefore perfectly to discuss the challenges faced by established businesses in the space in her after dinner talk.

Travelex is the world’s leading foreign exchange specialist, doing business in over 50 countries across online, 1,500 stores and 1,250 ATMs. Travelex is now focused on delivering a digital transformation of the business, including the launch of a £25 million Digital Growth Fund and a major recruitment drive to build significant product development and design capabilities.

Speaker

Ania started her career in banking with JPMorgan and Barclays, before moving to Boston Consulting Group and then Travelex, where she is currently Head of Commercial Development for Products/ Digital.

Responsible for defining and executing projects across business strategy, commercial analysis, partner and negotiation strategy, performance improvement and large scale change, primarily for the product and digital teams at Travelex.

Currently leading a major digital transformation project to define future customer experience vision and deliver change across all channels (both physical and digital).

Previous projects have included negotiation strategy with major partner, monetisation opportunities for new digital products, accelerating growth of specific product in one of our major markets and post-merger integration of a recently acquired business.
